Once lovely gem is now tarnished A review of Warwick Melrose Hotel Dallas
The first time I stayed here about 8 years ago I thought I had found a real gem. The rooms were lovely and spacious (on the 4th floor), reasonably price, and the service very attentive and efficient. Over the next couple of years it still was worth coming even though the room rate seem to increase with every stay. However, after the last few stays over the last 2 years and especially this last one I have definitely decided I will not ever return. There is always a wedding going on which means a large amount of people. You would think then that the management would have more staff i.e. bell hops on hand to the handle the increase. There was only one bell boy when we checked in and I can't even begin to explain the mix up that happened with our luggage. What made it worse was how long it took to resolve the problem when they realized what had happened. Because of all the comings and goings with the wedding party the two operating elevators took forever to pick you up. Pretty annoying when it is late at night and you just manage to get your luggage(which the security guard is having to help you carry because the bell hop or a luggage cart cannot be found) and all you want to do is crawl into bed. Which was another nightmare. The mattress pad did not fit the bed and wrinkled and bunched along with the loose sheets. They would not stay tucked and they were the most uncomfortable sheets I have ever slept on. Because of the mix up with the luggage and the delay in gettiing it resolved the hotel manager did give us (myself and the 3 other people I was with) a complimentary breakfast in the hotel's very exclusive restaurant. After we passed all the plates around to get our correct orders, it was a fairly nice meal.-- (Oh, except my french toast was far too dry to eat). However the complimentary meal does not make up for the decline in what was once a wonderful little hotel. I am very disappointed.
