Old and Run-Down Dive - STAY AWAY A review of Deadwood Dick's
If you stretch your imagination very far, you could call Deadwood Dick's "rustic" or "antique" -- but in fact it is just an old and run down dive. It smells old and musty when you walk in, the stairwell is steep enough to kill you if you take a mis-step, and riding the rickety old elevator stops being fun when it stops showing up ( you see, there are two doors that have to be opened and closed manually, and if the last person didn't close the doors when they got out of the elevator, it just doesn't run. Brilliant, huh?).
As for the room, we also stayed in the 3-room suite with a kitchenette. The room was equipped with no phone, two - yes TWO - broken televisions (!!??!!) and furniture that is completely worn out. Try sitting on the sofa and your rear-end will practically fall through the frame and touch the floor. The beds are worn out and have no support, not to mention that they are covered with scratchy polyester bedding. Yuck.
The people who run this place are just local store owners/landlords looking for money by renting the space. This is not a hotel by any definition.
The people who run this place are obviously not keen on putting any money into fixing it up, and they know nothing about running a hotel. The best thing to say about it is that it has a good location, but there are plenty of others just as good.
Needless to say we will NOT be going back.
