Okay if you need to be there. A review of Hunt Valley Inn
I've had to stay at the Hunt Valley Marriott many times through the years while working/enjoying various conventions. It's not a bad place for such events, as there are quite a few meeting rooms and they pretty much allow event-goers to take over the hotel space, hallways, etc as "necessary".
Rooms have always been acceptably clean and comfortable. I know they DO have a tendency to overbook around large conventions, so my recommendation if you are staying there for an event is to ARRIVE EARLY for check-in--don't wait until later in the day or evening as you may no longer have your room.
One of the biggest annoyances of the place is that rooms basically sprawl over two floors, leading to very long walks to the elevators, the parking lot, the meeting rooms, etc.
The Cinnamon Tree restaurant serves a very nice breakfast buffet. However, evening service leaves a lot to be desired and the food has gone seriously downhill in recent years. It used to be a great place to have a nice meal; on my last few visits the food was all heavy-handed, sloppy, greasy, and way overpriced for what you get.
All in all, I wouldn't go out of my way to book a stay here as there are equally nice, if not nicer, hotels nearby at better prices. However, if you are coming out to Hunt Valley for a convention, it's not a bad place to be.
