OK, not maintained or cared for, many things inoperable, fire hazard! A review of Travelodge Monaco/N Miami/Sunny Isles
Motel is not maintained. The "heated" pool is only sometimes warm, mostly the heater was broken during the two weeks we stayed, and the water was COLD!Too cold for even children to swim. Rooms are minimally maintained, any "improvements" are shoddy at best. The security doors do not lock and our kitchenette blew its fuse daily, but luckily the fuse box was accessible in a closet outside our room. Showers require skill in changing the water temperature, since you never know from one minute to the next if it will be too hot or freezing! You must pay for any lounge chair usage, either poolside or on the beach. Beach towels are only provided if you rent chairs, otherwise, bring your own. Cribs are very old, and use only regular bedsheets, very dangerous! We bring our own. If you plan to cook, use paper plates and plastic cups, the motel does not clean supplied dishes, it is up to guests to wash them. Bring ear plugs. You can hear everything near you, and even rooms far away, since the ventilation system carries noise, too. If it is hot outside, it is hot in the room, if it is chilly, the a/c works great! Bottom line, grungy and cheesey, probably a huge fire trap, but the in-laws insist on staying here because of beach accessibility for the kids, provided it is even warm enough to be on the beach!
