OK in a pinch but Do NOT pay for the breakfast A review of Doubletree Hotel JFK Airport

After leaving our original hotel, the Fairfield Inn, due to their lying about the ability to leave ny car in their lot while on vacation, we wound up here.

Got a rate of $184 plus tax...($213 total) and we can park for 2 weeks.

First room VERY smoky. While checking in, the first agent said, "no rooms, you have to wait" and walked away leaving me waiting 10 minutes. Finally a manager asked if I was being helped, I said no, "xxxx was checking me in but she walked away 10 mintues ago..."

Finally got a room that didn't stink. Called for a rubber tub mat. Three times. Over one hour! Unacceptable! Finally someone called back and said they ran out.

I actualy gave a list of issues to the desk manager later in the evening. He called about 15 minutes later and said, we would like to buy you breakfast. Mom and I said ok.

Thank goodness it was free....it is horrible. In fact, I think many guests think it is free.....only buffet. Food very cold, the only good thing was the coffee. And the cookies!

In summary, the place was clean enough (could be much better with the details but passable), the beds were great, just be careful-some ot the springs kind of stick out of the edges. Some of the staff are genuinely nice, but some need to go to hospitality 101!

They did help us when no other property would and I am a Hilton HHonors Nothing, so that was nice. And the cookies were great!
