Ok, but overpriced A review of Blue Water Manor
When we checked into the blue water manor, we didnt expect the "Ritz", we were quite happy with our stay, even though we have to agree with some of the other comments other people have stated:
1- rooms need work, as the others have stated, one outlet near the bed seems to be all that feeds the whole room including the bathroom. There is some extremely unsafe wiring conditions in this room.
2-Rooms very much in need of facelift, "Rustic" is putting it lightly.
3-Activities for the kids were limited to a number of broken playground toys.
4- Don't expect the pool to be heated, even though it states this on there web site. The owner stated he would not heat the pool in July and August. This would be fine if it were outdoors to gain some heat from the sun. It was bitterly cold, and located in a building that needs a definite facelift.
In closing, comparing it to most of the other resorts in the area, its probably better than most, it has a "movie night" every night in the main building which seemed like a great end to the day for the kids, an outdoor movie night on a huge movie screen, a musician that sang by the bonfire one night that was fantastic! The food was above average, the service was not. the waitstaff is ok even though there is a language barrier. The waitstaff seemed overwhelmed with large parties and began neglecting us, family of four. The choice on the menu is very limited. Breakfast( pancakes, french toast, eggs) dinner( fish, chciken, beef, pasta). During our stay a huge playground set was installed , which was great for the kids. As much as others have complained about this resort, the owners bend over backwards for you, the nightly activities are great, we spoke to others who have stayed previous years and things have slowly been improved over every season. I overheard people checking in on a nightly basis checking out of other resorts because they said they were " dumps". Improvement is needed here, but the owners only have this place a few years, it was in shambles when they took it over.We found this out from others who were here the first year.
