Nothing Special A review of Hyatt Regency Santa Clara

I love Westin Hotels, but this was a real disappointment. I've stayed at Westin's before, and experienced the Heavenly bed, and these weren't. We had a double on the 13th floor (I think it was 13), and it was two 'double' beds, hardly enough room for my husband and I on one bed. It was not soft, or heavenly. The room was much smaller than I expected. It looked like Westin had acquired this hotel from someone else and just put their name on it. The pool was ok, a bit cold. We spent more time in the spa. BTW, if you are interested in turning the spa on, the controls are on the right side behind the foliage in the planter. We found it through exploration. There is a virtual concierge on site, you talk to a woman through a web cam, interesting experience. She was very helpful, however. The staff at check-in were very friendly, nice. It would have been helpful if they'd told us that you can get to the pool without going through the hotel lobby though. There is an elevator from pool level to third floor, where you walk to the main elevators and continue on to your floor, nicer than walking through the lobby in your bathing suit, which they don't want you to do anyway. Overall, we had an average stay (not worth the price we paid however), would go to another hotel next time.

On the plus side, it is right across the street from Great America, literally you walk across both parking lots and you're there. We also found this (April 22ish) to be a perfect time to go to PGA, it was a misty overcast day, with sprinkles. NO LINES!!!
