Nothing Special A review of San Mateo Marriott San Francisco Airport
We stayed in this hotel over 4th of July weekend for a wedding. Although it is a AAA four-diamond hotel, I found it to be average. Conversely, I don't really have any complaints. The front-desk staff was friendly, both at check-in and check-out. They overcharged me for parking, but immediately made the change when I noted it at check-out. They upgraded us to the concierge floor, but the rooms were merely average. The sleeping area was quite small. The bathroom was large and had a separate shower and bathtub, although the shower had some mold and the cleaning staff had left a towel in the shower from the previous occupant.
The banquet facilities were also very nice, but nothing particularly distinguished them. Similarly, brunch at the buffet was nice, but probably overpriced ($14.95) for what was provided (nothing fancy).
This is a good hotel for people who are stopping over for one night at SFO and want a nice hotel a bit further from the airport. It is not good for tourists as it is even further from the city than the airport itself.
