Nothing bad but nothing great. A review of Marriott Beach Resort and Marina Hutchinson Island

I stayed here in early January for several days while visiting relatives who live on the property. My studio was in the Sandpiper next to the beach, a 15 minute walk to the main hotel building. The hotel served my purpose, close to my relatives and near the beach. The property probably is due for a renovation in a couple of years if they want to continue to charge high rates. I had a AAA discounted rate. This is a quiet resort. Nothing much going on. If you want any food, the Tiki bar has a grill...otherwise you have to hike up to the main hotel, call room service, walk to the deli outside the property or head into Stuart or Jensen Beach. The spa is very small. A Publix supermarket is about 2 miles away to stock up your studio kitchen. The maid came knocking on doors at 7:45 am. The front desk said I should have put my "do not disturb" sign out, fair enough, but she pounded on doors next door to mine too..so much for sleeping in. My room was clean and good size with a balcony. Okay place, but not up to other Marriott "Resort" standards.
