Not worth the savings A review of Inlet Tower Hotel & Suites
We have stayed in numerous Anchorage hotels and recently tried the Inlet Tower Suites after searching for some last minute deals. It was not worth the $70 we saved compared to our last stay at the downtown Marriott. The room was spacious but strongly smelled of carpet cleaner. The rooms are not air conditioned which, in the summer, forces you to leave the windows open. This may not bother some people but we found it hard to sleep with all the traffic noise. The hotel advertises "luxury" linens but they did not come close in comparision to those at the Marriott or the Sheraton. Perhaps hotel should have to list thread count when they use this description. The bed blanket was worn and the "custom" bedspread needed cleaning. There are only two small elevators to serve the high rise which made for long waits. Don't get a room next to them because they are also noisy.
