Not worth the price.... A review of Timber Ridge Lodge & Waterpark
We just returned from a trip to Timber Ridge. We returned for a second trip after going the winter before. Most things have gone downhill, except the price. I never saw a worker at the hotel that was over the age of 20. The staff at times seemed so confused. We were the very first people to arrive in the waterpark in the morning. To our dismay, the place was filthy. Smashed food on the floor, and black filth coming up from the drain by our table (really nice when everyone is walking around without shoes). They ran out of towels during the day, and I was told by the 16 year old running the towel booth that 'its just the way it goes when you start the day with 500 towels and only 300 are returned for cleaning during the day.' With the amount of $$ I spent for the room, BUY MORE TOWELS. While it was nice to have a full kitchen in our room, the room was not clean. I found spots and stains on the carpet, curtains, bedspread and sheets. I stopped looking, apparently, so did housekeeping. Most people I talked to thought the water was a bit too cold as well. It wasn't a total loss..... my kids, 5 and 2, didn't notice any of the above mentioned issues and they did have fun.
We stayed there in 2003 and didn't have any of these issues, so we went back in 2004. We are now done with Timber Ridge - its too expensive to give another try.
