Not what I expected A review of Hilton St. Louis At The Ballpark
We reserved this hotel through Hotwire for $64/night. The pictures of the hotel and rooms looked beautiful and modern on the Hilton website. In contrast, we were given a very traditional room (Rm. 2416) with a view of Busch Stadium and the Mississippi River.
The bathroom was the smallest I've seen, and we had to crawl over the toilet to get into the shower sometimes. The decorations were nice, though a little scuffed and damaged. One really bad thing was we heard every conversation our neighbors had (they were getting away from the mess that their carpenters made at their new house). There was an inch gap under the connecting door, so, out of curiosity, I bent down and saw a good portion of their room. I immediately put a towel under the door. Our room was at the end of the hallway, and the ice machine was in a cubbyhole to the right of our door. It was not a peaceful stay.
Probably due to the recent storms, our window was really dirty which I can't fault them for. It was only a week before. A word of warning, the longest we waited for an elevator on the 24th floor was 14 minutes. The shortest was 4 minutes. Parking is $14/night in a convenient parking garage across the street. Starbucks is now open.
Jefferson National Memorial Expansion Park is two blocks away and the arch is more like four blocks in distance. It's a very easy walk, though. The closest Metrolink station is three blocks away at the Westin. I would recommend using this when possible. It's very easy to use.
