Not up to Radisson Quality A review of Radisson Resort at the Port

Stayed here for a wedding in November 2004. Reserved a regular room for $119/night expecting the same quality as other Radisson hotels in US and Europe. Must say, we were disappointed. The hotel is more like a "Days Inn" motel with a big pool. The room was clean but tired. When it was last "renovated", the work was shoty and not finished. The door would not stayed closed! The usual Radisson amenities including the oatmeal soap were provided, but the towels were small and scratchy. The hotel guests are mostly cruise passengers spending one night, so the hotel has a large turnover. We arrived at 12:30 pm and had to wait until 2:00 pm for our room. There were several bus loads of cruisers checking out. So, they are efficient in the room preparation.

We went to the restaurant for lunch while we waited. The food was pretty bad. The server should never have brought the plates out of the kitchen. The french fries were old and cold. The lettuce on the sandwiches was wilted and the tomatoes were pathetic. They do serve pretty good Starbucks coffee.

Some relatives had reserved one-bedroom suites for $139/night which were in much better condition.

The wedding at the hotel conference center was very nice.

We did not get the quality we expect from Radisson. We feel that the room rates are much too high for the hotel. I would not feel so bad if we had paid $60 or less.
