Not up to its Advertisement A review of The Bethel Inn Resort
Pros: The grounds of the inn and the common rooms are very picturesque.
Th heated outdoor pool is also nice albeit on the small side. The meals were also very good.
Cons: The front desk staff was not very helpful, when I asked if a local attraction was open they did not know and they made no effort to find out. I had to request that they look up the number for me. They gave me the number but made no effort to call for me. It took more than an hour for dinners in the pub to come out after the appetisers, the salads never arrived, and water and drink glass were only filled once in the two hours we were there. The rooms were in the Main Inn. The hallway carpet was worn and needed to be replaced. The rooms were decorated nicely but the paint was chipped in places and had been partially painted with a different shade. The cable tv wire came out of a hole in the wall and the Tv was blugged into an extension cord that was stapled to the wall. Beds in two out of the three booked rooms were subpar.
I am not picky but I have stayed in hotels of various classese all over the world. This is not what I expect of accomodations advertised as they are and at this price point. In some ways it is not even up to the standards of some two star chain hotels. This place needs work and I would only stay here with a great offer.
