NOT the Ritz Carlton A review of Econo Lodge
How I wished I had read all these reviews before I stayed at this Ramada. We had traveled to Lake Placid, New York to visit relatives. From there we had booked our stay at the Ramada Limited. Upon entering, the entire building had an odor. I'm not sure what died there, but it was stifling. We had pre-paid and after traveling all day with three kids in a car we were ready to relax. The room was dirty, smelly, old and quite possibly the nastiest room I have ever or will ever encounter. There were cigarette burns on the furniture, crumbs on the chair and floor, an old stain in the sink that looked like blood, holes in the wall that could very well have been peep holes. You could not see out of the windows as there was a film of some sort on them. We immediately decided to go visit Niagara Falls that night so we could leave first thing in the morning. We returned to the room around midnight and slept in our clothes which we immediately put into a plastic bag in the morning. We too checked out the pool only to discover it was dirty and green. Nothing about this hotel was clean. The hallway carpets were all stained. The walls were stained. Nothing was vacuumed. In the room pipes were scantily covered in a foam like material exposing most of the metal. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to my worst enemy. I think a prison might possibly be more inviting.
