Not the place to stay A review of HotelO Antwerpen Kathedral
Stayed at the Hotel Villa Mozart in August 2003. Made a reservation at the tourist information which can offer discounted last-minute prices in a range of hotels (open until 18:00). You pay the tourist-office about 7 Euro in advance which is deducted from the sum you pay at the hotel. Rate at the tourist-office was at about 75 Euro for a double.Chose the Villa Mozart as it was displayed at 4 stars, taking for granted that there would be aircondition. Now I have learned the lesson: No aircondition. Didn't bother to find a new hotel, and chose instead to sleep with window open. First we got a room 3rd floor which was rather noisy. Asked for a not so noisy room which was not a problem. There was a noticable difference, but still annoying shouts and rumble from the street/square below. Didn't mind the church-bell. Rooms facing away from the street are not an option as they are even noisier due to some vent.-engine about to expire in the inner courtyard. Breakfast was basic. The hotel is run-down and closer to 2 stars than 4. Better deals can be done.
