Not the greatest place A review of BEST WESTERN Four Seasons
Just returned from our annual trek to the Traverse City area. The rooms are clean and adequate for the most part. Be sure to check out the sleeper sofa (if you have one in your room) before your children use it. Ours still had soiled sheets at a 5pm check-in. When I went to the front desk to report this and to get pillows for the sofa-bed, they appeared "put-off by my request for clean sheets and just opened the side door and handed me a set and told me to change them myself! I also needed to ask the front desk for clean pool towels on several occasions.... they never had a supply out at either pool, just tons of dirty ones laying around. I agree with the last critique about inadequate space for the breakfast room. It was extremely cramped seeing that a very small room serviced 5 large buildings. They should consider opening another room central to the 'A' and 'B' buildings.
Regarding the pools...the outdoor pool is far better than the indoor one especially for young children. The indoor pool doesn't have an easy gradual grade for the younger ones. And the steps are very awkward on both pools. Eventhough I am not physically challenged, my husband and I noticed that the hotel is not user friendly for those who are in wheelchairs or have a mobility problem. Too many stairs....everywhere!!
And beware of sudden price changes... the price that I originally booked at suddenly changed when we arrived. And no explanation given for the increase. I think a $50.00 increase is appalling!! We had to check out a day early due to an illness and I gave them an 8hr notice, they refused to compromise and insisted that I pay for the room eventhough they know that they will have no problems filling that room.
JUST BEWARE..... I never encountered terrible front-desk service like this before and we are seasoned travellers! I won't return there!!!
