Not so great A review of Sun Mountain Lodge
I took my wife and my parents to Sun Mountain Lodge back in early October. We stayed at two of their most expensive units in the Mt. Robinson Guest Rooms. Decent large rooms but showed obvious signs of aging such as faulty faucets and shower heads, chipped paint on mirror frames. Two major complaints:
1. Thin walls and thin ceilings. The person above us walked around his unit till 2:30am and every thud and creak of his step was heard. Guests came in loudly in the unit next door after a wedding reception at around 1:30am. Every laugh and every word uttered felt like they were right next to my bed.
2. A constant loud dripping noise could be heard in the ceiling right above the entry way. I believe this coincided with the fan turning on and moisture accumulating somewhere between the floors. It was so loud, it was more of a snapping noise.
There has not been a response to my comment card to this day.
The outdoor experiences available to guests were much better. Wildlife, scenic views, access to hiking and other outdoor acitivities were plenty for guests to enjoy. For over a thousand dollars for 2 nights stay for a high-end hotel, we expected the accomodations to be way, WAY better.
