Not Really Worth It A review of River Park Hotel & Suites Downtown/Convention Center
I would not advise staying in this hotel unless you have an unnatural capacity to tolerate ignorance and ineptitude. The rooms are poorly appointed with the majority of the furniture being severely stained and odiferous. The suite rooms are spacious but lack a crucial refrigerator, plus the two appliances it did have (coffee maker and hair dryer) did not function. Upon checking into the room, the king bed had ONLY 1 pillow and a sheet.....no blanket at all. I called at 10:00 pm to request a comforter of some type. When I called back at 10:40 to see if the blanket was on the way, the fellow at the front desk advised me to just come down and get it because "he didn't have anyone to send it up." I then rode the rickety elevator 10 stories down to the lobby where he procured a flimsy blanket from the office behind him. Upon my further inspection of this fire blanket, it occured to me he probably gave me the blanket that the maids use to sllep on the office couch, because the blanket had pieces of grass and stray pubic hairs all over it. This thouroughy pissed me off, and when I complained to the overburdened and undercapable manager the next morning, it took her 45 minutes to finally give me half off of my room. Moral of the story: this place sucks.
