Not quite paradise A review of Paradise Club & Spa ApartHotel
We were moved here at short notice after the 4* accomodation we regularly stay at was closed for refurbishment. All I can say is if that needed refurbishment, then the Paradise Club needs a major overhaul. It claims to be a 4* aparthotel but I would say it only warrants 3* (there were signs of improvement as we left -grounds being mown & new bar firniture arriving).
The self catering accomodation is spacious but furniture is very worn, & the upholstery badly stained. We were also driven mad by the constant sound of rickety wooden furniture being dragged across marble floors from the surrounding apartments.
The balcony furniture looked like it'd never been cleaned which was possibly because you didn't really want to sit out in the midst of a jungle. The grass outside was so overgrown it came almost above the balcony rail -although it was mown the day before we left (unfortunately covering our washing in grass cuttings).
Maid service started off as being every other day but then declined to once every 3 days. However, the cobwebs on the light fittings, balcony & in the corners of the rooms remained untouched for the whole 2 weeks
The pool area was very nice although the fight for sunbeds got ridiculous. By 8am every lounger was covered by towels & inflatables although only 30% ever got occupied by people.
Entertainment staff worked very hard & some of the tribute bands put on were quite good but was very surprised that they didn't alter the times of the entertainment aimed specifically at children. The clown, magic show & parrot show which were clearly aimed at under 5's didn't start until 10-11pm. Anyone wanting to watch the football on the big screen had no chance as it was set up immediately next to the stage & the evening entertainment went ahead in direct competition.
Cala N Bosch is a lovely resort, based around a very pretty marina. There are lots of good bars & restaurants all within a few minutes walk & we didn't have a bad meal in any of them.
