Not performing at all A review of Hyatt Regency Miami
If you need to stay in downtown OK, but otherwise stay at Miami Beach instead. The location is not nice and you are away from most leisure activities.Checkin was smooth but then the problems started. When I got my room it was not what I booked: Non-smoking, King bed Regency club room. Instead it was a standard room, double bed smoking room. When I called the front desk they told me all RC rooms were sold out. So they simply downgraded me without offering me any reduction or other compensation. After spending ten minutes on the phone I eventually got the manager online and he told me I could get a RC room the next day.The new room did not live up to what their web page says. Cordless phone was not working, no fax machine in the room. Also there was a massive noice from the elevators 24 hours a day.Hyatt Miami just completed a $8m renovation but I found the rooms clean ut boring. You really couldn´t think they renovated the rooms at all. The balcony is small and scary. One nice thing is the wireless Internet connection in the rooms at $10/24h although the signal quality was poor sometimes in my room. Also the work desk is far to high to have a laptop on it. It is really not designed for the business traveller.Over all a disappointing experience. I will not return.
