Not great, but not bad A review of Villa Florida
Stayed here just before Xmas 2002 for a week. Caleta de Fuste is a nice enough little town with a reasonable beach and a little nightlife. Some good restaurants and bars, but not much else to do.
Villa Florida is a very short walk from the heart of the town and so is really convenient. There are some complexes on the other side of the main road from the beach which might be a bit quieter.
The rooms are a bit small and 'musty' - which may be because of the 2 days of rain we had. The bathroom ceiling leaked a little when it rained, but then it rains so rarely that you can forgive them that.
The kitchen - well it isn't a kitchen for a start. You get a sink, two electric hobs and some crockery/cutlery/pans. No grill, oven, toaster or kettle. You can hire all of that from reception, but isn't that a con?
Rooms have safes - cash deposit for the key and a nominal rental. They will also rent you hairdryers and irons/ironing boards so no need to drag yours over.
The pool is OK. I guess the place is great if you've got kids and you want somewhere easy. If you're looking for something a bit different, then this ain't it.
Oh, hire a car and get out a bit too - it's worth it. The cheapest we found was right next to Villa Florida - Cicar SIXT (not Hertz).
Also, try and get to Lanzarote - the volcano national park is spectacular.
