Not bad for $40 A review of Hyatt Regency Tulsa

I got this hotel on Priceline for $40/night and then read the reviews and got really panicky, but in fact, it was a very pleasant experience for the price. The room and bathroom were very clean (although the hallway was still recovering from New Year's eve the night before - cases of beer waiting to be taken out, etc.). But the bed was new and very comfortable, and everything worked.

The wireless internet, although free, is a little spotty, which was a bummer. It kept fading in and out and when I called downstairs, they gave me the number for their tech support (as if I want to deal with that). But the business center was always free and worked just fine for me, and the staff at the desk were friendly, if a little absent-minded.

Yes, there's a Starbucks affiliate in the lobby, but the coffee was pretty weak and not Starbucksy. Needs some help, but it looked pretty new. Maybe they haven't had Barista 101 training yet.

Also, parking is not included - it's an extra $10/day for limitless entry to an adjacent garage. And the "fitness center" is kind of a joke - a postage-stamp sized place adjacent to a bizarre "indoor/outdoor" pool that looked like some kind of water treatment facility.

But for what I paid, this place was a great deal - good location in downtown Tulsa, lots of places to walk to, good staff and a quiet hotel. Nice new beds helped, too, and a lovely view of downtown's main park area. But don't pay much more than $40 or you'll be disappointed.
