Nord Haven: good value near Denali A review of Motel Nord Haven
I agree with most of what other people have written. Rooms are large and clean. It's cheaper than staying near Denali's main entrance, but not hard to get to. Internet access was great. Staff was very helpful, and this was important to us since we were on the first floor and an EXTREMELY noisy family was right above us. The night manager called them multiple times and eventually went to the room to get them to chill out. The manager moved us the second night to an upstairs room away from the Loud Family, and that was much better.
We asked for a sack lunch (ten bucks per) and it was a very big ham sandwich w/ an apple, 2 cookies, a softdrink and a bottle of water. We felt we got our money's worth on them. I would be careful w/ Rose's Cafe - my wife and I ate there the first night and the food we had was basically Banquet brand frozen food. Burgers and other items were probably much better but the "fried chicken" was very mediocre.
All in all, Nord Haven is well worth it, but try to get a second floor room to be sure you won't be affected by people upstairs having a dance party or whatever...
