Noisy, small room, tacky decoration A review of Montecito Inn
I chose the Montecito Inn, because my wife and I love old hotels. We were doing a weekend "getaway" for my wife's birthday. This place is old, but we were not impressed. The faux-marble on the cabinets in the room was poorly done, and the dusty plastic flowers gave a cheap effect (not better than nothing!). There was a noisy kitchen downstairs, so all night we got to hear dishes clanking and flatware being sorted. We were awoken to bottles being thrown into a dumpster at 7am!!! When we complained to the staff in the morning, they just gave us a "feedback" form which I filled out and mailed back, along with a page-long letter to the manager. A month later, they still haven't written back. I told them I would expect this kind of thing from a cheap motel, not a $200+ per night hotel. Unless you have lots of $$$ for a big, quiet room STAY AWAY!!!!!!!
