Noisy Sheets, flat pillows, over-rated A review of O'Callaghan Hotel Annapolis
I stayed here in Sept. 2004. I was expecting a Hotel Monaco type of hotel and instead it was nothing of the sort. The front desk staff was nice, but didn't go out of their way to assist. I guess my biggest complaint was that either the sheets were really cheap or really expensive because they were "noisy". Everytime I moved or did anything to rattle the sheets they made a swishing noise, like parachute pants or a swishy jogging suit. So I basically had the worse night's sleep of my week long trip (I only had to stay here one night before moving on to Baltimore). The pillows were flat and useless, I might as well have not had one at all. I did not dine at the restaurant but instead had breakfast at Starbucks down my the marina. The main reason I stayed here was because of the location and I thought it would be nice. It had average decorations (much like any Hampton Inn style or chain hotel) which is also not what I expected. If I had to go back to Annapolis, I'd stay on the out-skirts, pay less and drive to town to see the sights as there is plenty of parking in this little city.
