No Hot Water in the Bathroom and Bugs! A review of Inn at Mystic
My fiance and I were looking forward to a romantic weekend. We are getting married in 3 months and I am starting a new job in a few days, so we had lots to celebrate. We made reservations at the The Gate House which is one of the buildings on the property that has a jacuzzi. We were excited. Upon getting into the lobby, we were told that the faucet in the bathroom is running and we should keep it that way so that the pipes do not freeze. I realize it's very cold outside, but that potential problem should be addressed better than asking your guest to keep the water at a trickle. We got into our room only to find ants in the bathroom. There were about 5-6 ants and only around the base of the sink. My fiance is an avid hiker, so we decided we could live with a few ants in the one room. The rest of the room smelled musty and the heating system was noisy. The next morning, we awoke to no hot water in the bathroom including the shower. How romantic is it when you can not even take a shower. Upon checking out, I brought up the issues of bugs and no hot water and was met with a token "I'm sorry." There was no offer for compensation. I was only told that I should have called and they would of sprayed for the bugs. I refuse to sleep in a room that has just been sprayed with chemicals to kill ants. We were charged $280 for one night and could not even take a shower and by the morning there were ants on the hand towel! I expect more for that price or any price.
They obviously knew about the issue of the water and there are 2 other reviews talking about bugs, and I should of payed more attention to those, instead of reading about how romantic it is there from a few of the other reviews.
