No attention to detail A review of The Spa at Norwich Inn
The last time we stayed here we were disappointed, but I decided to give it another chance, this time on a bachelorette weekend with 9 girls. Although the spa itself is well-appointed, has a varied menu of services, and decent to very good therapists, the inn itself has absolutely no attention to detail. On my last visit, we couldn't get a bottle of water anywhere - not from room service or even a vending machine. This time, there were no towels at the pool, no menus at either pool in order to call room service (had to go back to my room in order to place a lunch order). It seems as though they just don't care about making money - there is no attention to detail. Put bottles of water (for sale) in the pool houses and in the villas. Make it easier for people to get food when they are sitting by the pools. Some of the staff members, mostly the young, lower level people were very nice, but the woman in charge of housekeeping was very rude on the phone, and someone at the front desk couldn't be bothered trying to accommodate a late check-out for our large party. In fairness, I did finally speak with a supervisor named Pauline who was very helpful and did help us with a late check out while we waited for our transportation, but overall, our whole group was disappointed. And, although the spa is by far the best feature, there were some flies in the treatment areas (thankfully we got rid of one in my room before a body wrap!) and there was mildew on the shower curtain in my treatment room. The inn is owned by Foxwoods, and perhaps they make their money from the casino and the sale of their villas, so they don't really worry too much about the average weekend guest. My suggestion would be to stay at Mohegan Sun and visit the Norwich Spa for some services.
