Nicest Resort on Singer Island, but... A review of Marriott's Ocean Pointe
We stayed at Marriott's Ocean Pointe for five nights during the last week of February. Ocean Pointe is comprised of four seven storey buildings (with a fifth tower under construction) directly on a nice wide stretch of beach at the southern end of Singer Island. The property (a Marriott Vacation Club time share) is well kept with a lush, tropical pool area. Our two bedroom unit (one bedroom plus adjacent studio) was spacious and nicely furnished with a fully equipped kitchen (including a washer/dryer.)
Our only, and significant, complaint was that our "ocean view" room had none. We were informed by the (polite) registration staff that only Marriott Vacation Club time share "owners" are assigned ocean view units and that non-members get the "left overs", which are relagated to the lower floors. And while that seems a reasonable hierarchy, we only wish this was stated at the time of booking. (After our objections we have noted that their website now has the added stipulation: "non-view lower floor". )
Ocean Pointe is still by far the nicest resort on Singer Island, just as long as you don't require a view of the Atlantic from your room.
