We stayed at the Atlantic Oakes in late July of 2004. Our room was in the main building (containing the lobby) on the second floor. The room contained 2 DBs.

The view was great. My kids (4, 7, and 8 at the time) really enjoyed watching the Cat leave each morning. The room was comfortable. The location was nice (outside of Bar Harbor so traffic wasn't so bad) and the busses to/from Bar Harbor worked really well. The hotel is very convienent to the entrance of Acadia.

As others have pointed out, the website is a bit deceiving. It is a bit pricey for what you get, however this seems the norm for this area. I didn't notice the noice from other rooms (or get complaints about noice from my kids), however we spent little time in the room outside of first thing in the morning or late at night.

We didn't eat at the hotel so I cannot comment on that.
