Nice Stay at the HGI Charlottesville A review of Hilton Garden Inn Charlottesville
Just returned from a 1 night stay at the HGI Charlottesville. The hotel is easy to get to and is brand new. The room was as requested--2 queen beds, upper floor, near elevator. Even though we were near the elevator we never heard any noise from it.
Check in was quick and easy. Parking was plentiful and free. Our room was over looking a pond in the back and the Jefferson outpatient
hospital. The area was quiet and very convenient to the highway.
There is an Eckerd close by, as well as Applebee's and a grocery store. It was easy to get into town, and the hotel had nice printed directions to and from local attractions.
The business center provided computers with internet access which made it nice to keep up with things at home as well as print out maps
to our destinations.
The indoor pool was a nice place for our DD to get some exercise and have some fun. Towels were provided at the pool.
HGI also includes a refrigerator and microwave in the room which is a nice touch when traveling with a family. The bathroom was nice and had granite counters and the bowed shower curtain rod. Only downside is the vanity area is in the bathroom with the toilet and shower so two people getting ready at the same time could be difficult.
The room had a nicer color scheme than the first generation HGI. The beds were comfortable and the TV was a nice flat screen version with plenty of channels. A desk and easy chair round out the furniture in the room. The lighting was good, as was the storage space.
There is a restaurant available on site, but we didn't eat there. Some rate plans include breakfast; if you don't have it included with your room rate it is about $9 a person. There were cookies at the front desk when we checked in.
Check out was quick and easy from the room. This was a nice place to stay, and I would stay here again if we were ever in the area.
