My family and I stayed at the St. Pete Beach HoJo in the summer of 2001. We found it to be clean and an overall nice place. The drawbacks -- we wanted a room with a private balcony looking out towards the Gulf. When we made our reservations, I requested an upper-level room, so we could see better -- they would not do that. If was first come, first serve, but when we checked in, we got stuck on the bottom floor and could not even hardly see the Gulf. The pool was nice and there's a neat little bar right behind the pool. There's a berm (not sure of the spelling) that runs behind the hotel, so you have to walk a little ways to the beach. It's not bad, but I prefer being right on the beach and stepping out of my room onto the beach. Just my preference. Parking was great! Your room key also opens the gate to the parking lot, so you're always guaranteed a spot. We were always able to park right outside our room.
