Nice place, but too expensive & far out....... A review of The Westin Lake Las Vegas Resort & Spa
We recently had business in Las Vegas & decided to stay off the Strip. The drive was a bit long to & from town, but the hotel was very nice overall. The restaurants are very good, but also expensive. The grounds are beautiful, but the rooms were a little disappointing for what they charge. They were nice & clean, but not luxurious. The bathrooms were shockingly small, & one would expect a separate shower & tub in a place like this. I also stayed recently at the Golden Nugget downtown, & it was much more worth the money ($49 a night!) & had much better service. When I have to drive 30 minutes out of town to get to a room I paid over $200 a night for, it really should be better. For this kind of cash, the rooms at the old Regent (now a Marriott, also a drive out of Vegas) are gorgeous & worth it - true luxury worth the price.
