Nice place, bad experience A review of Sheraton Burlington Hotel and Conference Center
My mother and I planned a weekend trip to Burlington, and she found this hotel on the web and made on-line reservations. We found it with no problem (literally right off the freeway) and the location was convenient to downtown and the freeway to other places around Burlington.
There was a convention there that weekend, so parking was non-existant, but we checked in and found our room with little trouble.
We were so tired by the end of the day from sightseeing, we opted to eat at the restaurant in the hotel and were quite impressed with the facilities... there was an inside swimming pool and a very nice 'psuedo-outdoor' area where the barr & grill style restaurant was. The food was good, and the ambience was quite nice, but it was a bit overpriced for what it was.
The room was clean and pleasantly decorated, however the bed was the hardest thing I've ever laid on. We tried sleeping on it, and my mother actually opted to squeeze herself onto the small loveseat to sleep, instead. I was stuck with the bed, and have never had a worse night's sleep.
When my mother reserved the hotel on-line, she had provided her credit card number for payment, yet when we went to check out, she was told she had to provide it again, so she did. She then found out later she was charged twice for the room, and the second charge was quite a bit more than the price she had been quoted on-line! She called to have it removed and was told they could only reverse the lesser of the two charges! She argued with them about it, but they would not budge... she ended up having to pay quite a bit more for the room then she had originally been told she would be charged. I was furious, and called to complain myself, but was rudely told there was nothing they would do about it.
I would never stay there again, simply because of the horrible bed and the dishonest and rude way in which the credit card charges were handled.
