Nice Hotel with Good Location A review of Courtyard By Marriott Lancaster
This Marriott Courtyard Hotel is brand new (opened last month) and has modern "luxury" feel. Even though it's located in a business park, it's definitely a "family" hotel, at least during the summer vacation months. Lots of kids rushing about, and I noticed on the door down the hall from my room a signed taped on it reading "Soccer Coach's Room." One thing I noticed was that doors close loudly, but with air conditioning turned on and running you do not hear this. One Complaint: Housekeeping needs improvement. I'm very particular about the cleanliness of hotel bathrooms, and did notice 5 small hairs (you know the kind!) in the bathtub, and one longer hair on the soap dish. Gross! The breakfast area in the morning was a zoo, and I passed on this dining experience, but did notice that the staff seemed unable to keep up with the demand, both in keeping the food bar stocked and in cleaning tables. Check-in was smooth, and front desk staff had direction cards handy (pre-printed) to nearby locations such as Hershey Park (20 minutes away) and downtown Historic Lancaster (5-10 minutes). This hotel also has a very convenient location to Route 30. As a business traveler, I'd stay here again if school were in session and it wasn't summer vacation time. Nice hotel for families, but can get pricey since breakfast is not included.
