Nice Hotel with Bad service A review of Hilton Americas - Houston
I recently spent one night 7/31 at Hilton Americas Houston hotel. 1600 Lamar
Houston, Texas 77010. There are a few issues id like to bring to your attention at this hotel.
After spending an evening at the theater, my wife and I decided to go back to the hotel for a relaxing swim in the pool and room service dinner afterward dinner. At 9:45 we made are way to the pool, as we tried to enter the pool area we were stopped and told the pool is closing at 10:00 Pm and we would not be allowed in> we went back the room very disappointed we could not use the pool facilities at such an early hour of the evening. . We then called room service at 10:45 PM room to place our dinner order, we were told it would arrive in 20 to 30 minutes; room service did not arrive until 12:35 AM
When I asked the room service attendant why the two hour the delay, I was informed that he was the only one on duty to deliver room service at this hour. This is not acceptable at such a fine hotel as this. It ruined rest of our evening. After going to bed I received many phone calls throughout the night that woke us every 30 minutes from someone looking for a Mr. Hutchington, after the 5th call, I called the front desk to let them know there is no one in our room by that name , and I explained that I have had five different calls for this person, the front desk attendant was very rude and seemed put off by the call and said " well, if this person is not in your room you should have called earlier" I was very taken back by this poor attitude and lack of professionalism . I have stayed at Hilton many times and we have always enjoyed our stay and this is one of the reasons we have booked an up coming vacation to Hawaii for two weeks staying at the Hilton Waikoloa Village, on the Big Island. We are now questioning our decision in hotel for our vacation, and are considering canceling the booking due to concerns we experienced at this hotel. I hope this issue can be worked out, I usually enjoy my stay at the Hilton and this is highly unusual to receive such bad service from a Hilton.
