Nice hotel, shame about the view A review of King Charles Boutique Hotel Residence

Stayed here October 26-29th. Arrived by taxi late at night, receptionist was very friendly and accomodating. We had asked for a double and found ourselves with twin beds, receptionist allowed us to look at other rooms available, before we decided that original room (apart from bed size) was fine. Found out that it overlooked the road/rail/building site combination mentioned elsewhere, but the windows were double glazed as well as having secondary glazing, so didn't keep us awake or woke us in the morning. Breakfast is excellent value. They do have an evening meal service but I think they have thrown in the towel when it comes to competing with U Neklana around the corner. (Even the recptionist was taking his tray back one night, so that says something about the competition).

The only drawback with U Neklana is the service is on the slow side (50 min wait) but I think it's all freshly cooked so is worth the wait especially when 2 main dishes and 4 beers came to about £10
