Nice Hotel, Not So Nice Location A review of Hampton Inn & Suites Boston Crosstown Center
I just got back from staying at this hotel for 7 days / 6 nights. The hotels shuttle came and picked us up from the airport. When we arrived at the hotel, the staff quickly and efficently checked us in and we were off to our rooms. The rooms, although not anything spectacular, were comfortable and clean. There is free breakfast in the morning, a nice pool on the top floor, and a free shuttle that runs on a schedule, making stops around town.
The staff was very nice and helpful. The front desk clerks answered any questions we had, and let us stay in the pool after closing instead of kicking us out. The shuttle drivers had lots of great information about what to see and what not to see, and how to get there. The hotel manager even paid for a cab, to take me to my destination so that I didn't have to wait for the shuttle. He had the shuttle make an extra stop, to take us to Fenway Park for a baseball game, so that we didin't have to walk.
The hotel is not in the best part of town, and there is not much around it, but it does sit right on a major bus line, with busses coming about every eight minutes or so. This along with the free shuttle, and the fact that Boston is the "Walking City" make the hotels location a mute point.
All in all, if you want to save some money, go to the Hampton.
