Nice hotel, great location A review of DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Atlanta - Marietta
My family and I stayed at the Radisson Windy Hill June 24-26. We were traveling to Atlanta for a Braves game and decided to give Radisson a try because of the good reviews. We were pleasantly surprised upon arrival. The hotel is right off I-75 S and therefore very easy to find. Since our reservations were made through Radisson's website ($79/night), we were able to check-in online and print a quick pass before even leaving home. When we arrived, all we had to do was show our pass and id and our keys were handed over. Very quick and easy. We got a non-smoking room with two double beds. The room was a nice size. It had the two beds, a chair, an armoir with television, dressing table, and desk w/ chair. The beds were very comfortable with down comforters and lots of pillows. The bathroom was standard with a sink, toilet and tub. The hotel itself is very nice. It has a cappuccinio bar, regular bar, restaurant, pool/whirlpool, fitness center, and Internet room with 3 machines and printing capabilities. We didn't eat at the restaurant since we were out and about most of the time. The hotel's location is great. It's about 14 miles or so from downtown Atlanta. Getting around was a breeze. We just hopped on I75 and arrived at our destination in minutes. Plus, we didn't have to deal with downtown parking or noise which was nice. Around the hotel are several restaurants: McDonald's, Arby's, Halftime Cafe, Papadeux (very good if you like seafood), and Papasita's. All in all, the Radisson made for a very nice weekend in Atlanta and we will definitely stay there in the future.
Just a side note, we visited the ESPN Zone. The food and atmosphere are great. However, service was very slow. Be prepared if you visit.
