Nice Hotel! Good Location! Love NYC! A review of Marriott New York at the Brooklyn Bridge

My family and I stayed at this hotel 9/4-9/7/04. We wanted a quick get away and we wanted to do some last minute school shopping for the kids. The hotel was nice. The location is great. We were able to shop in Brooklyn and Manhattan. The staff was pleasant. The hotel rooms were large. The hotel restaurant was pricey!! Walk around the area you will found a few nicely priced restaurants. We ate a Juniors one night which was about a 5 minute walk. The only complaint that I had was that the staff in the gym wasn't really nice! When I went into the facility (the pool is located there) I asked the guy at the desk about pool hours, etc. He looked at me like I wasn't supposed to be there. (I was actually waiting for him to ask me for some type of ID after the guy in front of me walked in without a second look). We ended up coming back to the pool about 30 minutes before it was time for them to close and he wasn't pleased. At one point he actually cut the lights off while we were exiting the pool!!

Other than that incident, the hotel is nice and clean. We paid about $199 per night which was the most inexpensive in the area for that time (other hotels were about $250-$400 per night). We are planning to go back in October to try and catch a show and for more shopping and we are staying here again.
