Nice hotel but.... A review of Hotel Lippert
Hello! My husband and I were bumped to this hotel by the Hotel Metamorphis nearby (who claimed to have lost a bunch of reservations). Apparently this is a 'sister' hotel.
The Cerna Liska (Black Fox) is located right smack on the main square in the Old Town, only footsteps away from St. Nicholas' Church. That makes the location fantastic for exploring but a tad bit noisy until about 2 am.
This was a lovely, small hotel of about 12 rooms. It was a combination of the old world and new: our room had a modern, clean bathroom but old-world design and paintings on the ceiling. Lovely. The reception desk was very friendly and always helpful.
The food at the little restaurant was superb. However... be ware of the waiters. We ate here twice and each time got a very, very different story about our bill. The bill/check is NOT itemized and be very sure you ask what you are paying for. Everything costs extra. Sometimes they say the tip is included and point to a number and the next time it is not. First meal, the bread was free, but next time, the bread was delivered and then charged onto the bill! For each of our two meals, we got very different versions about what was or was not included. So..... nice hotel but skip the restaurant. We had a bite or two at some other places around the square and did not seem to have this same problem. Interesting.
This is a simple, basic, nice hotel. Don't expect any extra special services or amentities such as a spa treatment. They realize the guests are here to explore this lovely medieval old town.
