Nice Hotel, but a terrible stay A review of Sheraton Austin at the Capitol
We stayed at this hotel last weekend, and they were hosting several weddings. The patrons were extremely loud 24 hours a day. We had to call security to the floor three times over two days. In my opinion, those people should have been thrown out of the hotel the first night, avoiding the need for more drama the next night. As for the rooms, the furnishings were nice. The bed was extremely soft - it felt good when you first laid down, but our backs hurt the next morning. The feather pillows also gave absolutely no support. Between the bed and the noise, it made for a restless stay. The hotel operator was very understanding when we made our late night calls (she could hear all the noise they were making in the hall over the phone) but the front desk staff showed no emotion when we complained at checkout and offered no compensation for two sleepless nights. I realize that the patrons of a hotel vary by the night and it's somewhat out of their control, but I wish they had handled this situation better. I expect more out of this class of a hotel. I won't stay there again.
