Nice experience and clean A review of Quality Inn

Quality Inn Taos

This motel experience was really a pleasant one. From other Quality Inn experiences I was a bit nervous before checking in, occasionally expecting low quality. But this motel/ hotel really has a better standard and we enjoyed our stay very much.

The building fits into the style many buildings in Taos are built - pueblan style. The entrance door is a small wooden one, not one of those common big glass doors, and when opening the door you wonder what would be behind. It was really a funny feeling I got. Then we entered the hall and I really have to say, huge hall. Very nicely decorated with Halloween decoration.

Check in was great, the guy, wearing Halloween costume, was so nice and helped us so much. And we had a nice short chat about Europe as well... He even told us much about Taos and surroundings.

Adjacent to the big lobby are various comfortably furnished rooms like a lounge. There you can sit in and have a chat, or sit at the big nicely decorated fireplace in the lobby. There is a huge restaurant for dinner and you get your free cooked breakfast there as well. Furniture is southwestern style and there is a fireplace in the restaurant as well.

Rooms have in- and outdoor corridors as well, that means 1st floor rooms open to 2 sides. You can park right in front of your room. Rooms have big glass windows, more like balcony doors, I always like that when rooms are not dark.

Our room, with 2 queens, was really spacious and very nicely decorated with some southwestern style wooden furniture with carved decoration, a very decorative mirror and more decorative lamps. Beds and pillows were good. Unfortunately they do not cover the lower mattresses so you see they are stained. Furniture is really nice and makes me feel comfortable. We had a round table and 2 chairs, too.

A sign says there is internet connection but we could not find any cable and wireless did not work. Probably they had taken away the cable, but as we arrived late I did not want to call in the lobby to get a cable. Even saw no chance to plug it into any wall. Probably they use the telephone for internet access.

The room and carpet was clean as well as the bathroom and the small room with the sink. They use a nice dark red colour for their bathroom walls and the sink. There are real tiles around the sink and the tub as well as the floor is tiled. The tub looked a bit dirty.

Walls to bathrooms are not thin, you even hardly hear the own bathroom noises in the sleeping room, neither those of neighbours. But you can hear every word neighbours talk in the sleeping room. Walls room to room are really thin.

The public restroom of the motel, probably also used by guests of the restaurant, urgently need to get renovation, especially the doors and walls, as the floors. Those restrooms were very dirty in the morning.

There is a hot tub you even can use when it is cold, as it is indoor. They provide towels there. Unfortunately it was out of order. And they have a seasonal pool.

We got breakfast in the restaurant, one can choose from 4 menues. You can get tea or coffee and a small juice with food, but if you want milk or hot chocolate, because you or the kids do not drink coffee you are charged extra for it.

TV has more than 40 channels but not all worked. Coffee maker, ironing equipment and hair dryer are in room.
