Nice, comfortable B&B A review of Manitou Lodge Bed and Breakfast
My wife and I enjoyed our rather brief retreat at the Manitou Lodge B&B. The Lodge is situated in some thick woods about 10 minutes from the beaches of Olympic National Park. Nice location. The breakfast was OK. Convenient for those looking to eat-and-run, which isn't always easy at B&B's.
We left Seattle on the 07:55 ferry to Baimbridge. We had a nice relaxing day travelling through Olympic park, took time to hike to Marrymere and Sol Duc falls, and still had plenty of time to eat dinner in Forks*, check in to the Manitou, and spend a nice relaxing evening watching the sunset at Rialto Beach. So for those of you wondering what your schedule should be in Olympic. Take your time!
As far as the town of Forks goes - I was expecting a vibrant tourist community with a nice variety of restaraunts and shops. NOT! Forks ended up being a bleak, depressed, rather inhospitable town. Do not plan on spending much time there. If you are planning on eating lunch or dinner before going to Manitou Lodge, you may be better off stopping at one of the cafes along the highway before Forks.
All-in-all, Manitou Lodge is a cozy lodge in a great location for beach-goers.
