Nice, but ... A review of The Inn at Lost Creek

Based on the reviews that we read, we were quite excited to stay at the Inn at Lost Creek. The room itself did not disappoint nor did the restaurant. However, the service at the hotel was simply unacceptable. On one occasion, our room had not been cleaned when we returned from skiing at 3:00. We called the front desk to report this and asked that we not be disturbed so that we could take a nap. Twenty minutes later, housekeeping woke us up. When I again called the front desk, the clerk informed me that she "had only been there ten minutes and what did I want her to do about it?" This was certainly not the response I was looking for and it was typical during the duration of our stay. Though we had been told that the hotel had transportation to nearby areas, when I asked the staff to pick me up at night after a spa service at the Golden Door Spa, they told me that I should walk or take the bus. On the other hand, the ski valet is wonderful and the bar is intimate and the bartenders were great. Next time, we will probably stay at the Peaks.
