Nice, but not Vegas A review of Harrah's Lake Tahoe

I agree with most of the others. The room is nice and spacious. But the best thing is the two bathrooms. We have traveled quite a bit and we've been upgraded to suites and have stayed in many 5 star hotels. However, I don't ever recall having 2 bathrooms in a standard room (except for suites). The buffets in Tahoe are very ordinary and not particularly good. We had dinner at Llewellyn's in Harvey's and that was very good with a beautiful view of the sun setting behind the mountain. We enjoy gambling and have been to Vegas, Biloxi, CT, Atlantic City, etc. However, Vegas is still the best. The view from our room at the Bellagio looking and listening to the fountains, albeit man-made, is still lovely. The food is great - they have the best buffets and so many celebrity chefs' restaurants. And the hotels are truly lovely with many amenities.

We added Tahoe on to a business trip to San Francisco. We rented a car in San Fran and drove to Tahoe. Although I routed it in mapquest, I didn't realize that we would really be that high up in the Sierra Nevadas. It was a white-knuckle ride going down that mountain. It is also difficult to breath in the high altitude. Glad I went, but won't go back.
