Nice, but a few gripes A review of Hilton Bellevue Hotel
Spent two nights March 11 & 12 for a convention that was very conveniently located on premises. The room was very nice, quiet and comfortable, with updated furnishings and bedding, and the bathroom was also fine, well-lit and roomy. However, the on-site restaurant The Atrium was a failure! We ordered oatmeal - and I mean, how can you screw up oatmeal?? Well, if you cook it to mush and then serve it lukewarm so that the sugar won't even melt.... and others complained about eggs benedict with a hollandaise with the consistency of library paste. Service was cheerful and the manager ended up not charging for the eggs. The prices were typically high, $5 for oatmeal, $2.50 for coffee... they should be able to fix these restaurant problems.
Another gripe: they wanted $9.95 per day for internet access. This made smoke come out of my boyfriend's ears, so we didn't go for it.
Third: we needed to find an auto parts store, so asked at the front desk. We were referred to a sort of low-rent concierge who whipped out a map that listed the local eateries. First he drew a nice green line to a local Fred Meyers. Then, when pressed for an auto parts store again, he drew another line to a Radio Shack. (We needed a new ball hitch.) We should've just swiped the yellow pages.
So if all you're looking for is a nice room in a good hotel, this is a fine choice and well-located in a leafy part of Bellevue. But if you are looking for those extra service touches... just be informed.
