Never Again A review of BEST WESTERN PLUS Shelter Cove Lodge

We have daughters in SLO and decided to try staying in the beach area.

Big Mistake. We were quoted a rate of 168.00 per night and gave a cc to guarantee the rate. When we arrived we were told the rate was 223.00 per night and we must have misunderstood. If we didn't like this we could find another place to stay. Talk about bait and switch. The room was tired looking and upon arriving back from dinner with the fog rolling in we tried to turn the heater on. This is when we noticed the space heater in the corner, which didn't work either. We went down to the front desk and had them call the hotel manager at home. The manager told us we could have the room for the orginal 168.00 or we could leave. Since all hotels in the area were sold out this was not an option. A small working space heater was found which turned on and off all night making the room glow orange with the freeway traffic in the background. It will be a long time before I stay at another Best Western.
