Needed: Improvements, Better Service A review of Colorado Springs Marriott
Property in need of upkeep (cracked floors in lobby, cracked sink in room, paint, threadbare seats in restaurant, etc.). Check-in service was polite, but slow. Room and beds were fine. TV was small. Housekeeping in room was fine. Rooms were not as quiet as I had hoped (noise from hallway), but not a major problem. Indoor pool and hot tub were nice, but in need of upkeep and cleaning. Restaurant tables weren't being bussed; crumbs on tablecloth. Buffet breakfast was OK.
I liked the office park setting (quiet, on top of a hill). I had no trouble finding the hotel and the parking lot. However, you will have to get back on the freeway to go to restaurants and other attractions.
This could be a nice property if the hotel chain were willing to put some money in to it and the staffing were better and more motivated. I wouldn't be surprised if the ownership changed to another chain. Don't expect more than the equivalent of a nice Holiday Inn.
I would not pay more than $65/night here. However, check out the major travel websites for discounts. I found one for $60 for one Sunday night that included breakfast.
