My 2nd stay A review of Bryghia Hotel
This is the 2nd time I have stayed at this hotel. The previous visit was in the summer (for the Klinkers Festival!) and this time for some Christmas atmosphere. This time we had a twin and triple room. The triple was on the top floor and huge! No lift for this last floor and very steep steps - still, it gave us a lot of amusement on our return in the evening! Bathroom huge as well. Tea/coffee making facilities as well as minibar. Breakfast great and constantly replenished, with fresh rools, bread, croissants, cold meats and cheeses etc.
Hotel staff very friendly (manager gave me his parking space on last day)
Hotel offers parking space 5 min walk away, but this is cramped. We drop off bags and check in, then drive to main station and park there. We then take free park'n'ride back to main square. Parking here is 2.50 euros max per 24hours.
Have sampled most of restaurants on main square now and quite a few in back streets. Have never had a bad meal yet, although I tend to go for the local Flemish stew!
Shopping good, with some great bargains to be had - check out Casa and Hama for home stuff and At Home for wacky home stuff (just off main square).
Anyway, you could do a lot lot worse than stay at this hotel - quiet, convenient and friendly!
